Fast Track Selection Drive of Indian Air Force Concluded Successfully
In the Fast Track Selection Drive of Indian Air Force, held at CEC, Landran, students of various engineering colleges of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh showed overwhelming response. As many as 1024 students of B.Tech and 69 students of MCA & PG from various engineering colleges got themselves registered for this mega drive.
For the B.Tech students , in the first round total 505 students were short listed. Out of these 505 students, 466 turned up for the second round. Finally 127 students were given call letters for appearing before the SSB.
In the 23 short listed students of MCA , 5 were found ineligible. Out of total 18 students 9 were given the call letter for appearing before the SSB.
SATYAM COMPUTERS Selected 550 students during campus placement drive at CEC
Satyam Computer Services Ltd. will be conducted the biggest placement drive at Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran involving almost all the Engineering and MCA colleges of Punjab ,Haryana, HP and Chandigarh. As such this drive was the biggest joint placement drive held in the state of Punjab so far. Satyam Computers is a leading global consultancy & IT services company offering a wide array of solutions. Sonalika International Tractors Limited & HDFC Bank conducted interviews at Chandigarh Group of colleges, Landran.
As many as 52 students holding B-Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering with 60 percent aggregate scores were eligible for the selection process of Sonalika International. The recruitment process included pre-placement talk, group discussion and personal interview.
Dr, Gurwinder Singh, assistant manager, HR informed that those selected would be paid Rs. 15,000 per month after completion of training period of one year. During training the trainee engineers would be given Rs. 10,000 per month as remuneration. Mean while, a team of officials from HDFC bank also conducted personal interviews of 28 MBA students.
College director Dr. SPS Bedi said a number of students, due to pass this year, have already been recruited by companies like Standard Chartered Bank, ICICI, Karvy and Sterling
KARVY at CBS
An integrated financial services provider, conducted campus interviews at Chandigarh Business School(CBS) Landran recently. Karvy is ranked among the top five in the country in all its business segments, services over 20 million individual investors in various capacities, and provides investor services to over 300 corporate, comprising the who's who of Corporate India, a press release said. The selection procedure for the post of Marketing Executives and Finance Executives included written test and personal interview.
The finally selected candidates will be given a package of Rs. 1.2 lakh per annum. Addressing the students in pre-placement talk Sanjay Mathur, regional head of the company informed that Karvy covers the entire spectrum of financial services such as stock broking, depository participants, distribution of financial products like mutual funds bonds, fixed deposit, merchant banking & corporate finance, insurance broking, commodities broking, realty services personal finance advisory services, placement of equity and IPOs,among others.
Addressing the students Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director Principal said that 44 companies recruited students of 2006 batch of Chandigarh Group of Colleges(CGC) while 51 did so for 2007 batch. Altogether 27 companies, including ,Infosys, Convergys, Satyam, Perot, Tech Mahindra, Tata Elexsi, L&T, Iflex, Sapient, Accenture, J k Technosoft, HCL, USTech, Mphasis, TIL, Alpha Net, Safal Tek and Susken, etc., have already recruited students going to pass out in July 2008, he added.

Three day placement drive at CEC concludes
The three day state-level job fest at Chandigarh Engineering College (CEC), Landran, concluded on 13 Nov, 2006 with foreign-based recruitment agency G-4 Solutions selecting over 126 students from across the state. These students would be given jobs by nine different companies including Hexaware and GTL. In all over 1100 students from 36 colleges affiliated to PTU, GNDU, PU and University of Engineering and Technology.

KMG Infotech, a US based company has selected Chandigarh Engineering College, for placements of its 2007 batch B.Tech and M.C.A. students. The comapny is offering a pay package of Rs. 1.8 Lakh along with a performance bonus of Rs.30000 per annum which will increase to Rs. 60000 after one year. KMG Infotech is a global software development company which provides IT solutions for companies like Microsoft, Java etc.
PTL conducts campus interviews at CEC
A Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran, near Mohali, became the region's first professional college to have campus interviews conducted by Punjab Tractors Limited (PTL), one of the leading tractor manufacturers in country. The company will pay a monthly stipend of Rs.15000/- per month to trainees. After successful completion of year long training, the company is expected to pay salary of over Rs. 20000/- per month. The candidates have to undergo an aptitude test, GD, besides a technical and personal interview.
