Sport has an unmatched ability to mobilize and excite people in their millions. Sport matters to most people, but fewer of us play sport or are physically active on a regular basis.
Head of Sports Department and Sports FacilitiesMr. Kamaldeep Singh has done B.A (History), M.A (History), B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed. He has three years experience in the field of sports. He has won five Gold medals in State weightlifting championship and three times participated in National level weightlifting tournaments. He is a great motivator and a great sportsperson.The organization provides adequate infrastructural support for all such student-activities which would provide them with physical fitness & personality development and cultivate in them sportsman spirit, team spirit, leadership and talent. There are in-campus activities like cricket, basketball, volleyball, football, track field, athletics and indoor games.  Wide participation of students is encouraged. Students are also encouraged to participate in inter-colleges, open, invitation and other external tournaments, sports meet, cultural and other competitions. Besides the indoor games facilities, a high tech Gymnasium is already operational in the hostel to promote physical well being and healthy recreation of students. Many other facilities are being planned. Students of CGC have already won prizes and distinctions in competitions at other places. Medals in WeightliftingCGC bagged overall trophy in Inter College weight lifting Championship. In the Competition the college team bagged first position in Weight Lifting and Power Lifting competition and second position in Best Physique Competition. CGC has got 12 Gold, 6 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. In the championship 35 weight lifters, 45 body builders and 72 power lifters participated. Jagjit Singh in weight class of 77 Kg, and Mr. Amandeep Cheema and Harpreet Singh in weight class of more than 105 Kg. won gold medals. Arun Dev in weight class of 52 Kg, Hardeep Singh in weight class of 56 Kg, Pradeep Bhatia in weight class of 60 Kg, Jagjit Singh in weight class of 75 Kg, Damandeep in 82.5 Kg, Amandeep Cheema in 100 Kg and Vikas Bansal in 125 Kg won gold medals in Power Lifting and bagged second position College. Hardeep Singh in 56 Kg, Pradeep Singh in 62 Kg and Jarnail Singh in 69 Kg and Damandeep Singh Samra in 85 kg won silver medals. Jarnail Singh Won Silver medal and Gagan Bajwa won Bronze medal in power lifting. Gagandeep Singh won silver medal and Rahul Dahiya won bronze medals in Best physique competition.GymnasiumHealth plays an important role in every field of life, so to tone up the bodies of the promising engineers campus hostel maintains of a well-equipped gymnasium. It has many modern equipments. The gymnasium will help to aid the physical fitness maintenance of the students. The gymnasium is equipped with all modern equipment and is open for boys And girls at separate times during mornings and evenings.Our students are good sportspersons too. They actively participate in the sports activities. Our students have played cricket matches at interuniversity level tournament. We have national level players in our cricket team. In table tennis also our students have won prizes at state level. So we have laurels in sports also. The college excels in inculcating & encouraging ethos in its students by providing excellent infrastructure. The specialized sports wing includes intensive training by instructors. The laurels and accolades received by the college teams bear testimony to the outstanding performance of this wing.In tune with the objective of all round development of students, various sporting and physical development activities are encouraged amongst students. To enable students to enjoy sports, the campus is equipped with an Olympic size running track, football field, cricket field, basket ball & tennis courts, table tennis tables etc.Trophies and Gold Medals in Cricket

CEC won Trophy and Gold medal in PTU's Inter College Cricket Championship 2006-07. In the 25 over final match, CEC defeated RIMT, Gobindgarh by 73 runs. Batting first CEC scored 185 runs for the loss of only one wicket while RIMT scored only 112 runs all out. Mr Gaurav Kumar & Amandeep Cheema of CEC made half centuries each. Mr Gaurav was adjudged as Man of the Match and Mr Amandeep Cheema Best Batsman of the Series.

"Joint campus by IBM, the world IT Leader, for the recruitment event for 2007 passing out, held sucessfully on 12th may, 2008 at CEC Landran.The students of ECE 6th Semester bid adieu to the final year students at hotel Parkview on 29th April, 2008. Placement Day"  celebrated on 11th April, 2008 at CEC. S Prakash Singh Badal, Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab was the chief guest of the occasion. Joint Campus Placement by Iflex Sloutions for 2009 Batch held successfully on 23rd March. A National level seminar on E-Governance held at CGC; National Science day was celebrated with Inter College competitions organized by CC Ed on 28-02-08; Annual Sports Day" was organized by Chandigarh College of Education on 19-02-08; Talent Hunt was organized by Chandigarh College of Education on 21-09-07; CEC won overall trophy in PTUs Inter College Weight Lifting, Power Lifting & Best Physique Championship and Table Tennis (Men) Tournament for the second time consecutively.; CBS organized a paper writing contest on "Globalization and its impact on Indian Economy" on 13-02-08; National Conference on "Trends in Mechanical Engg." organized by Mech. Engg. dept.. of CEC on Feb. 8-9, 2008 in collaboration with Institution of Engineers (Pb. and Chd. state Center). Dr. Pawan Kapoor, Director CSIO was the chief guest; National Tourism Day celebrated by CCH on 25-01-08 with Mr. Rohit Badhwar, President, Airpak International as Chief Guest; CCP held the event ' Catholicon ' on 24-01-08 and 25-01-08 in association with Red Cross Society, Chandigarh and Sohana Hospital during which Blood donation, Free Eye Check Up and free other general Check ups were done; Lohri Celebrated by CGC on 14-01-08; 10 Day NSS camp organized by Chandigarh College of Education from 21-12-07 to 30-12-07. Dr. Sadhu Singh Randhawa, Dir. SCERT Punjab inaugurated and SDM mohali, Ms. Raghbir Kaur Khaira was the Chief guest.
