PHOENIX CLUB

qCSE / IT department launches a new Club named Phoenix .Phoenix is a fabulous bird that periodically regenerated itself and used in the literature as a symbol of development. Phoenix reminds us that there is no true ending - only rebirth. The club was inaugurated by students of CEC in the year 2005. The club is engaged in conducting various technical and non - technical events in the college. The management of this club is in hands of students and teachers. The club has already organized various events. qThe Students of CSE and IT are members of this college. Club organizes various technical and cultural events in the college.

 

 

Club is also Looking after various Indoor and Outdoor Automation projects. All Website's under CGC (CEC, CBS, CCP, CCH, CCE) are maintained by the members of this group. Phoenix Club also organize "Parivartan- A National Level event" every year. Students are effectively participating in all the events of the PHOENIX Club.

Photography Club

Photography is an art of capturing the still of our Ever-Evolving world and CEC's Photographic club is actively involved in propagating the intricacies of this art amongst the ever enthusiastic students. The members of this club are first introduced to the basics of Photography like the technical know how of what a camera is, how it works, etc. They also learn the techniques of focusing, intensity matching, and importance of lighting etc coupled with the technical specifications of different camera types and their other important details. Frequent guest lecturers, seminar and workshops, initiate the students in understanding the more complex photographic techniques and also helps them keep abreast with latest technologies like digital photography and others. Last but not the least photographic club gives ample photography opportunities for travel and nature lovers.

NSS Club

The National Service Scheme Club is organized to effectively involve the students in making education socially relevant and using the system to transform the society. This Club not only seeks to make the teaching purposeful and meaningful, but it also seeks to sensitize the members of CEC who are a privileged group to contribute their mite to the good of the society. The realization that the educational system should actively contribute towards the benefit of the masses and should not remain a prerogative of few has grown in recent years. The NSS Club has opened new vistas and has offered unique opportunities to become instruments of change and development in society. The NSS Club organizes special camps, inter-college & National Integration camps to make youth to interact with each other and to transfer skill. These camps include lectures by experts group discussions & demonstrations by Audio Visual methods for increasing the capacity of students to learn the art of communication of skills & numerical skills. The major objective of such trainings is to provide education and latest information by latest methods of Information Technology such as internet & others and than to create practical and meaningful awareness, with an objective of generation consciousness are concern for the social issues concerning the society. The communication skills are developed to attain the objective of bringing transformation in the attitude & behavior of such individuals, which is not in confirmily with healthy norms and is adverse to the concept of 'Healthy Life Style'.

CYBEX Club

A club of cyberspace explorers inaugurated by Mr. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal honorable President Chandigarh Group of Colleges. This club is managed and organized by college’s Department of Computer Applications. This kind of club, help the students in improving their technical skills but also tests them in various aspects like communication skills and personality development. The club provides the students a platform where they can judge themselves before entering the corporate world.  As the club is for the students and by the students, its working committee has students of MCA/BCA as its executive members. The club organizes TECHNO HUNT as one of its program, which features a variety of activities like On-the-spot-software-development Contest, Paper Presentation Contest and Technical Quiz where Management and IT colleges can take part. Panel of experts are invited from various premiere institutions who judge the performance of the participants and give their expert opinion on their performances.

Mecnorobs

Mecnorobs is a Technical club launched by Department of Mechanical Engineering. This club is engaged in conducting various technical G.D's, quiz, competitions etc to polish the hidden talent among young and budding engineers. This is beneficial for students in future placement interviews conducting by the companies.

 

"Joint campus by IBM, the world IT Leader, for the recruitment event for 2007 passing out, held sucessfully on 12th may, 2008 at CEC Landran.The students of ECE 6th Semester bid adieu to the final year students at hotel Parkview on 29th April, 2008. Placement Day"  celebrated on 11th April, 2008 at CEC. S Prakash Singh Badal, Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab was the chief guest of the occasion. Joint Campus Placement by Iflex Sloutions for 2009 Batch held successfully on 23rd March. A National level seminar on E-Governance held at CGC; National Science day was celebrated with Inter College competitions organized by CC Ed on 28-02-08; Annual Sports Day" was organized by Chandigarh College of Education on 19-02-08; Talent Hunt was organized by Chandigarh College of Education on 21-09-07; CEC won overall trophy in PTUs Inter College Weight Lifting, Power Lifting & Best Physique Championship and Table Tennis (Men) Tournament for the second time consecutively.; CBS organized a paper writing contest on "Globalization and its impact on Indian Economy" on 13-02-08; National Conference on "Trends in Mechanical Engg." organized by Mech. Engg. dept.. of CEC on Feb. 8-9, 2008 in collaboration with Institution of Engineers (Pb. and Chd. state Center). Dr. Pawan Kapoor, Director CSIO was the chief guest; National Tourism Day celebrated by CCH on 25-01-08 with Mr. Rohit Badhwar, President, Airpak International as Chief Guest; CCP held the event ' Catholicon ' on 24-01-08 and 25-01-08 in association with Red Cross Society, Chandigarh and Sohana Hospital during which Blood donation, Free Eye Check Up and free other general Check ups were done; Lohri Celebrated by CGC on 14-01-08; 10 Day NSS camp organized by Chandigarh College of Education from 21-12-07 to 30-12-07. Dr. Sadhu Singh Randhawa, Dir. SCERT Punjab inaugurated and SDM mohali, Ms. Raghbir Kaur Khaira was the Chief guest. Theme of the camp was "Creating awareness among the Masses against various social evils; Chandigarh College of Education held Workshop on Creative art on 14-12-07 with the noted artist Prof. Ravinder Sharma as the Chief Guest. He also gave tips to participants for making posters, charts, Models & Collage Making; Chandigarh College of Education Celebrated Human Rights Day, Clubbning it with Martyrdom Day of "Guru Teg Bahadur Ji" on 12-12-07; "AIDS Awareness Day" organized by Chandigarh College of Education on 4-12-07; PTU's Inter College Table Tennis Tournament organized at CEC Landran (24-11-07); Chandigarh College of Hospitality put a huge stall during Chandigarh Carnival organized by Chandigarh Administration at Leisure Valley on 24-11-07; The III National Level Techno Cultural Symposium was organized by Phoenix Club of Researchers and Developers (Deptt. Of CSE/IT) of CEC on 15-11-2007 and 16-11-2007; III Inter College Technohunt-2007 organized by Cybex Club of CEC on 20-10-07-a Club of Cyberspace Explorers of the Deptt. of Computer Application, CEC (Paper reading, Quiz, Programmer of the Year, Debate etc. held). Dr. N.P. Singh, Dean Exams, PTU presided over the function ; World Chef Day Celebrated by Chandigarh College of Hospitality on 17-10-07; Camp Organized by Chandigarh College of Pharmacy on 16-08-07 for giving Awareness about the latest developments in Pharmaceutical Industry; Teacher's Day Celebrated on 5th Sept., 07 (An aptitude test conducted under the aegis of IETE chapter of the college and all eligible faculty members were promoted to APs and Sr. Lect. on this occasion); Fresher's Party PRISTINE-2007 held on 07-09-07 to welcome the new students of CGC.
